Alice Oseman Pop-Up
HarperCollins
HarperCollins approached us to create a concept for a pop-up shop to celebrate Alice Oseman and her infamous novels. With her iconic illustrations front of mind, we set out to create an incredibly inclusive space which allowed fans to feel as though they were wandering through the author’s mind; life-sized character standees, hanging Heartstopper leaf mobiles and a giant timeline of the ‘Osemanverse’ welcomed guests as they entered the space.
We created an art wall that held hundreds of pictures drawn and sent in by fans as well as a hangout space at the back of the store for people to meet other members of the fandom. Quiz sheets and Q+A cards were distributed to encourage conversation, and Heartstopper trailers were played on repeat alongside a bespoke playlist providing the soundtrack for the weekend.
We were even lucky enough to have a visit from Alice herself, who popped in to draw a live art piece for us before treating her fans to a book signing. We’re not usually one to toot our own horn, but Alice said she thought this was possibly the best event that had been created for her! Swoon!
